. Guidance

  Meet the needs of social development andthe transformation of publishing industry, take teaching reform as the core,integrate curriculum resources, pay attention to curriculum construction andtraining quality, and strive to run the specialty of editing and publishingwith its own characteristics.According to the characteristics of appliedliberal arts talents training, we should improve the integration of humanisticliteracy and scientific spirit, increase the proportion of practical teachingin teaching programs, scientifically construct students’ knowledge hierarchy,enhance their practical and innovative ability, and comprehensively improvestudents’ adaptability to the publishing media and cultural and creativemarket.

Ⅱ. Objectives

  Cultivate editing and publishingprofessionals with solid and systematic theoretical knowledge and humanisticaccomplishment of editing, publishing and releasing, and talents with strongpractical skills who can meet the needs of information society, networking anddigitization, and who are capable of editing, publishing, releasing andadministrating books and newspapers or other paper-based media, web-based andelectronic publications.

Ⅲ. Requirements for Graduation

  1、Patriotic, honest and law-abiding, with the correctvalues and ethics; with highly social responsibility and team-work spirits;with good scientific and cultural awareness.
 2、Master the basiccontents of journalism and communication, economics and other disciplinesrequired by this specialty; grasp the basic knowledge of informationtechnology, network, publishing market and copyright law or related field;possess essential knowledge of humanities and social sciences.
3、Have asystematical and solid mastery of the basic knowledge, basic theory and basicskills of editing and publishing ;have common understanding of knowledgehierarchy and development trend of editing and publishing.
4、Have comprehensiveabilities in editing and publishing research, topic selection planning,publication production, etc. by using basic theories and technical methods ofrelated disciplines; master the ability to analyze and solve practical problemsin the publishing market and edit and process publications content.
5、Have theindependent learning ability; master the basic methods of literature searchesand data queries, and be able to acquire relevant knowledge and informationindependently, have a strong sense of innovation; have a great ability toacquire, process and apply information.
6、Only by completingthe credit requirements of the course stipulated in the training plan andpassing the examination of “Situation and Policy”, can students graduate.

  7、It is recommended that students select courses which credits are nothigher than 27 at the most and not lower than 20 in the 1st and 2nd grade eachsemester, while students select course which credits are not higher than 24 atthe most and not lower than 14 in the 3rd and 4th grade.
 8、Length of Schooling: 4 years, students who meet therequirements for the degree will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.
 9、The compulsory module of general education requiresstudents to choose one course with 2-credit course in Mathematics andStatistics, the optional module of general education requires students tochoose 2-credit course in general education, the optional module of generaleducation requires students to choose 8 credits, and the optional module ofplatform courses in social sciences requires students to choose 2-credit course
10、Students are required to graduate inadvance or extend the study time which is not more than 6 years(includestopping off school).

1. Generaleducation curriculum:49 credits, accounting for 33%

2. Platformcurriculum of social science:13 credits,accounting for 9%
3. Foundation curriculum: 22 credits,accounting for 15%
4.Specialized curriculum:64 credits,accounting for 43%
